Richard’s Year of Movies — Avatar Redux

So I finally got to take Hannah to see Avatar tonight, and even on my third viewing I was totally caught up in it.  I wasn’t even so much paying attention to the plot this time around.  I was just sitting back and watching the visuals.  I’m not going to go as far as some of the poor souls who are talking about being depressed at the end of the movie because they have to go out into the real world again — IT’S A MOVIE, PEOPLE — but there’s definitely something about this film.  The story is barely there.  There are plot holes a plenty.  And yet the whole thing just works.  Cameron is some kind of alchemist.
